The 2021 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru, which includes 50% whole bunches, was taken from barrel. It has an attractive nose with brambly red fruit, tertiary notes and touches of cigar humidor. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly dry tannins and moderate depth, but I feel there is a tad too much whole bunches on the finish here, and it is obfuscating the terroir expression. In Bond€943.00 -

Palish red. More stony on the nose than the Sizies, with a perfumed quality to the strawberry, cherry and menthol aromas. A step up in texture and sweetness, displaying an element of smoky minerality and a slightly edgy quality on the plate. Finishes with a firm mineral spine and an herbal nuance. In Bond€1,080.00
