(6x75cl) 2022Jancis Robinson (19)
Mid smudgy crimson. Stunningly vibrant aroma of red cherry and peony (winemaker Grégory Patriat suggests violets). I'd be happy to wear this as perfume. Smells intensely sweet but also tart and tangy. All that on the palate, too. Firm, dry texture, layered super-fine tannins are almost chalky. Fabulous wine. If only I could afford to drink it! I am suggesting an early start date for the drinking window because I could actually drink this now though it is sure to have a very long life.Inc. TAX€2,147.74 -

(6x75cl) 2022Jancis Robinson (18)
Mid cherry red. Less open than the Vosne-Romanée just tasted. Peppery and definitely spiced with a touch of oak and stems all tangled up in the aroma. A dark beauty as it opens in the glass. So elegant, embryonic and yet refined already. Fresh, appears subtle, and it is, but it's also powerful and long.Inc. TAX€1,091.74 -
Jancis Robinson (16.5+)
Cask sample. Bright, light crimson. Quite a meaty nose but the fruit is bright and energetic. Pure, fresh fruit – lighter than the average Gevrey from another vintage but a very approachable, lively wine. Lots of ripe-tomato perfume.Inc. TAX€753.34 -

(6x75cl) 2021Jancis Robinson (16.5)
Cask sample. Very pale garnet. Some interest on the nose already. This would make good early drinking with just a little grip on the end but pure Nuits fruit already. Light, grainy tannins on the persistent finish.Inc. TAX€578.14 -
Jancis Robinson (17)
Cask sample. Bright, pale crimson. Really quite opulent purple-berry flavours and a plumpness that almost disguises the fine tannins. Good but not excessive acidity. Good wine!Inc. TAX€568.86 -
Jancis Robinson (17+)
Mid crimson. Darker-fruited than the Chorey and the Savigny, deep, pure dark fruit and some Nuits spice. Oak seems a little more marked on the nose and also on the palate. Open and surprisingly approachable but needs time for the oak to back off a bit. Long, dark, savoury finish.Inc. TAX€515.74 -
(6x75cl) 2022Jancis Robinson (17.5)
Mid cherry red. Highly perfumed, impression of violets. That perfume leads you to a firmly but finely structured wine – the really elegant tannins are the main quality of the palate at the moment. A refined, pure and elegant beauty.Inc. TAX€483.34 -

Good medium red with a hint of amber at the rim. Complex aromas of ripe cherry, menthol and wild herbs; very Clos Vougeot. Silky-sweet, dense and energetic; sappy, fruit-driven wine with excellent stuffing. Rigorous and taut without being hard. A superb vintage for this wine. Alain Meunier told me he did a strict triage in 2008, and the selection has clearly paid off here.Inc. TAX€1,181.53 -

The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Aux Boudots, matured in 50% new oak, has a similar bouquet to the les Fleurières, but here the fruit is one of Confuron’s few that nudges more toward the red side of the fruit spectrum. The palate is silky smooth on the entry with a fine line of acidity. There is ample freshness here, a buxom Vosne endowed with sensuality and purity on the finish.Inc. TAX€1,962.23 -
