Vinous (86)The 2015 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has a bold and generous but smudged nose that lacks real complexity. The palate is chewy and dense, displaying moderate grip and a very conservative finish that feels a little sterile and tastes of sour cherries. Not my cup of tea. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. |

Wine Advocate (92-94)Aromas of cherries, raspberries, warm spices and loamy soil introduce the 2019 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru, a medium to full-bodied, rich and fleshy wine that's enveloping and gourmand, structured around ripe tannins and succulent acids. Like the Romanée-Saint-Vivant, this is sourced from the Poisot family. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (88-91)From Le Charlemagne. Rich dense purple with quite a powerful weight of fruit but verging on the cooked plums. Good oak, quite suave, not at all ugly at the finish, but a riper style of fruit than the ideal. Tasted: October 2021 |

Vinous - Neal Martin (91-93)The 2023 Corton-Bressandes Grand Cru has a superior bouquet to the Corton Grand Cru. It has more touches of red fruit, sous-bois and pressed flowers. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and fine structure. It's a little peppery toward the finish but there is more freshness and brightness here. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean 1er Cru Rouge was cropped at 30hl/hl. With brambly red fruit, cranberry, raspberry, orange pith and a dab of white pepper, this is quite delightful. The palate is medium-bodied with black pepper filtering through the red fruit, attenuating slightly, though I admire the tension here. Very fine. |

Vinous (85-87)The 2021 Bourgogne Rouge has a pretty red cherry and cranberry scented nose, a little rustic in style. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, quite spicy and peppery in the second half with a clean, sous-bois-tinged finish. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot 1er Cru Rouge taken from a one-year old barrel, has a well-defined bouquet with bright red cherries and cranberry fruit. Very intense. The palate is medium-bodied with a chalky entry with very fine tannins, lightly spiced with quite a pesistent finish. Excellent. |

Vinous (90-92)The 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge Morgeot 1er Cru is certainly more flattering on the nose than the Clos Saint-Jean at the moment, with ebullient red berry and blueberry fruit, well-defined and expressive. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins. There’s plenty of fleshy red fruit with cracked black pepper and allspice towards the finish. Maybe the Domaine's strongest red this vintage. Very fine. |

Vinous (88-90)The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge offers lilting red cherry and wild strawberry scents on the nose, hints of rose petal coming through with aeration. The palate is well balanced with fine definition, lightly spiced, quite energetic on the finish. This is very elegant for Chassagne Rouge. |

Vinous (88-90)Matured in 20% new oak, the 2022 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge has quite an intense bouquet with dark cherries, blueberry and light violet scents. The palate is well-balanced with a powdery texture, moderate weight, and a little graphite towards the tender but lengthy finish. Give it just a year in bottle. |

Vinous - Neal Martin (86-88)The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge has a well-defined, Pommard-like earthy bouquet that unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red and blue fruit tones. It's quite dense toward the finish and just needs a little more amplitude. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2020 Volnay Clos des Chênes 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet with dark cherries, blueberry and violet aromas, almost Cote de Nuits-like in style. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit, veins of blueberry, lightly spiced with white pepper and a touch of clove towards the finish. Great length here. Superb. |

Burghound (93)(from Les Baudes Basses). Like the Vosne-Romanée “Petits Monts”, there is a hint of mocha to the ripe plum, red berry earth and moderate wood-suffused nose. The rich, full-bodied and powerful flavors possess good if not special mid-palate density as well as solid energy that carries over to the youthfully austere, firm and built-to-age finale that exhibits lovely balance. This is also quite good and a wine that should amply repay extended keeping. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94-96)Deep crimson colour. A very lively fruit here, all in red berries. Good tension here, a few drops of a darker fruit but this remains mostly in a bright red profile, fresh but not firm tannins and very good length. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Dec 2024. |

Burghound (93)(from the climats of Les Treux and Clos St. Denis). This is also trimmed in enough wood to notice on the beautifully layered nose of both red and dark currant, exotic tea, spice and floral wisps. The exceptionally rich and nicely textured medium weight plus flavors are shaped by dense but fine tannins on the mouthcoating and lingering finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth. This too offers excellent development potential and it’s just as well because it definitely needs to add depth with time in bottle. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (95-97)A more energetic ruby crimson, with a sweeter perfumed fruit. Flowers and raspberries. Delicious energy throughout and light on its feet. Maybe less immediately striking than Gaudichots but I think it is the finer of the two. I love the aftertaste. Drink from 2030-2040. Tasted Dec 2024. |

Burghound (88)(from Clos Solon and Les Crais). A subtle but not imperceptible dollop of wood sets off more elegant aromas of floral wisps and various red berries, in particular currant. The sleeker and more refined medium weight flavors display good length on the mildly austere and only slightly rustic finale. This too could be enjoyed young but 4 to 7 years of keeping should help to develop more depth. |
