The nose shows just a slight reduction, but underneath there is pretty brambly black fruit mixed with black olive tapenade. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy black fruit, quite fine tannin, touches of black currant pastilles and a dash of spice toward the pert finish. Pretty, though I would drink this over the next 10 years. |

It has fine tannins and nice poise with a harmonious finish. There's not enormous length, but this is really quite a lovely Volnay. |

The Gruenchers finished its malolactic fermentation very late and like some of the following wines it may not be racked until after the winter, with the bottling taking place as late as June or July. |
