Wine Advocate (93-95)The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru les Champonnets saw 65% whole bunch fruit and 65% new oak, and saw no pigeage in this vintage—just remontage. It has a lovely oyster shell scent complementing the black fruit on the nose, beautifully defined and focused. There is a lovely, subtle sea spray/oyster shell scent here that gains intensity with aeration. The palate is very well balanced with fine definition, taut and fresh, very harmonious with a gentle grip on the silky finish. This is another classically-styled Gevrey-Chambertin that should age with style. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champonnet 1er Cru is matured with 60% whole bunches. The stems exert quite an influence on the nose, black pepper notes rather obscuring the fruit underneath. The palate is medium-bodied with a sappy opening, fine tannins, and quite mineral driven. Here, the stems show much better integration. I suspect that the aromatics will come together with bottle age, so don't be afraid to cellar this. |

This has a very lively and intense bouquet that actually puts the Les Jouises in the shade - vibrant red fruit intermingling with minerals. Vinous (88-90)The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Songes Vieilles Vignes comes from the north of the village. I feel that the whole bunches (60%) comes across a little too strong on the nose, consequently it masks some of the terroir expression. Vinous (90-92)The 2017 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru matures in 50% new oak with 60% whole bunches from 45-year old vines that are Cordon pruned, although they are introducing some Guyot simple. It has a precocious bouquet with macerated dark cherries, blackcurrant and spicebox. The palate is dense and rather introverted. Perhaps here I would have liked just a little more delineation for it seems rather blocky and heavy on the finish. Afford this 5 to 7 years in bottle - hopefully it will lighten up. |

Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (90-92)50% whole bunch vinification, 25% new wood. First to be picked. Pretty ruby-purple colour. The nose here has the elegance and charm of Chambolle with the lifted fresher qualities of the whole bunches. Fresh raspberry and alpine strawberry, avoids the herbaceous note to be found in Clos Village, and has good acidity, refined tannins and fine length. Well made and enticing. Tasted: December 2021 |

Vinous (88-90)The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Village includes around 20-30% whole bunches. It has a light pepperiness on the nose, dark berry fruit, a touch of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with quite fine tannins that frame the tart red fruit, a touch of orange sorbet towards the bright finish. This ends on a high note! |

Wine Advocate (90-92)The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Vieilles Vignes includes 55% whole bunch fruit and it was matured in 30% new French oak. It offers bright redcurrant and cranberry scents on the nose that is well defined and offers plenty of freshness and vitality. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, structured in style with more crunchy black fruit here than the aromatics, sous-bois and white pepper towards the finish. This is premier cru in quality—excellent. |

The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, supple in the mouth with crisp acidity, a perfect combination of power and refinement. What a gorgeous wine from the domaine! Dare I say that it must surely be the best they have produced from this premier cru vineyard. |

Vinous (92-94)The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Champonnets 1er Cru is showing the stem addition on the nose at the moment, though that will all integrated with time. |

Vinous (91-93)The 2017 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Songes Vieilles Vignes comes from 80-year old vines in two areas in the north of the appellation, blended with 70% whole bunches and raised in 25% new oak. This has a very lively and intense bouquet that actually puts the Les Jouises in the shade - vibrant red fruit intermingling with minerals. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannin, well balanced with black fruit mixed with tobacco and graphite, with a sustained finish. Excellent. |

Vinous (89-91)The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Songes is more opulent and richer on the nose compared directly with the Les Jouises, though it does not convey the same delineation or mineralité. The palate is medium-bodied with vivid red berry fruit, white pepper and an almost citric note towards the finish. Enjoyable as this is, I am more smitten by the elegance of the Les Jouises this year. |

Vinous (88-90)The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Songes Vieilles Vignes comes from the north of the village. I feel that the whole bunches (60%) comes across a little too strong on the nose, consequently it masks some of the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, quite fresh and saline, a healthy dash of white pepper towards the understated finish. Fine, but I might have dialled down the whole bunches here. |

Vinous (83-85)The 2021 Bourgogne Pinot Noir comes from two vineyards in Gevrey and is completely de-stemmed. It has a light and slightly earthy nose that just needs a little more clarity. The palate is medium-bodied with tart red fruit, but there is a touch of bitterness on the finish at the moment. |
