Good, bright deep red. Aromas of black raspberry, mocha, cocoa and chocolatey oak. Sweet and thick but energetic, with a chocolatey richness to the lightly saline flavors of dark berries, spices and minerals. Good bright, deep red. Black raspberry, maraschino cherry and a whiff of meat on the compelling nose. Thick, tactile and utterly smooth on the palate, but with real energy and mineral lift to the flavors of dark fruits, mint and wild herbs. Finishes with serious tannic clout but has the stuffing to support it. This impressively vibrant wine should reward eight to ten years of cellaring.Inc. TAX€8,569.68 -

The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots, matured in two-thirds new oak, has a bewitching bouquet that is very pure and intense, layers of dark cherry and wild strawberry fruit tinged with iodine that seems to blossom in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannin and structured, underneath those intense dark berry fruit, a touch of salinity towards the finish that keeps the senses searching and eager for the next sip. Typical of Cathiard's style of winemaking, this is just a brilliant Les Suchots from one of its finest exponents.Inc. TAX€4,836.84 -
Vinous - Neal Martin (95-97)
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots 1er Cru has a gorgeous bouquet, a mélange of red and black fruit and more sous-bois aromas than the En Orveaux; touches of sage and pressed flowers emerge with time, adding more and more complexity. The medium-bodied palate offers sappy red fruit and gentle grip in the mouth. Quite structured for a Les Suchots, with a stunning, lightly spiced, energetic finish that has more vivacity than it knows what to do with. Fabulous.Inc. TAX€786.68 -

(Don't Miss! Outstanding) Once again, the nose is wonderfully spicy with its very Vosne aromas of anise, clove, soy, hoisin and sandalwood wisps that add serious breadth to the ripe and liqueur-like black fruit scents. The lavishly rich and opulent larger-scaled flavors coat the palate with an abundance of dry extract that gives the mouthfeel an almost viscous feel, all wrapped in a moderately powerful, serious and hugely long finish. This is a flat out exceptional Suchots and worth a special effort to find.Inc. TAX€935.95 -

The 2011 Vosne-Romanée Village has a smooth and sensual bouquet that obliges coaxing from the glass, eventually revealing scents of crushed red cherry, strawberry and pressed white flowers. The aromatics feel cohesive and effortlessly bound together by the conspicuous oak. The 2015 Vosne-Romanée, matured in 50% new oak, finished its malolactic in October. It has a perfumed, quite floral bouquet, a mixture of blackberry and blueberry fruit with just a hint of crushed violet.
