  • Bryant Family Vineyard Bettina 2015 (1x75cl)

    Vinous - Antonio Galloni (95)

The 2015 Bettina is the most vibrant of these 2015s from Bryant, especially on the palate. Dark red fruit, blood orange, cinnamon, new leather, mocha and a kiss of French oak open first, supported by bright acids. The oak imprint remains quite strong, but the wood has integrated well. Red cherry jam, pomegranate, mocha and espresso are some of the nuances that linger.

  • Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1996 (1x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (98)

Tasted at the winery from magnum, the mature 1996 Cabernet Sauvignon shows some garnet at the rim but is still nicely colored and impressively dark at the center. Scents of cherries and dried cherries are joined by hints of leather, mint, cigar box and chocolate—it smells lovely and evolved, like a mature Napa Cab should. In the mouth, it's full-bodied, soft and voluptuous, with a long, mouth-coating finish. Made by Helen Turley at the Napa Wine Company, from vines averaging just five years of age, it's a terrific wine that's still drinking well (at least from magnum) but should be consumed over the next several years.

  • Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 1997 (1x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (100)

I have consumed several bottles of the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Pritchard Hill. One of the most awesome young reds I have ever tasted, it possesses a black/purple color, a seamless texture, and freakishly high levels of intensity (cassis, black and blueberries infused with espresso, chocolate, and licorice) that are flawlessly presented in a full-bodied, massive yet elegant wine. Nothing is out of balance in this explosively rich, thick, highly-extracted Cabernet. A compelling, historic Cabernet Sauvignon, it will drink well for 30-35 years.
  • Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 (1x75cl)

    Vinous (94+)

(15.7% alcohol): Bright medium ruby. Distinctly candied, liqueur-like scents of dark berry pastille, licorice and violet; barely showing secondary scents today. Silky, hedonistic wine with incredible grain and depth and a compellingly sappy quality to its powerful berry fruit. An incredible fruit bomb with huge dusty tannins and outstanding rising length. There's something almost magically primary about this classically dry, superconcentrated wine, which, like a number of top 2002s, seems to be in a state of suspended animation today.

  • Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 (1x75cl)

    Vinous (96)

Bright medium ruby. Heady scents of blueberry, blackberry, licorice and graphite minerality are complemented by coffee and briney olive notes. Much less unctuous on the palate than the nose suggests; not austere but juicy, backward and firmly built. The wine's concentrated black fruit flavors are given sex appeal by graphite minerality and an element of sweet oak, with integrated acidity providing terrific definition and energy. This wonderfully suave, fine-grained wine possesses a serious tannic structure for a long and graceful evolution in bottle. I suspect it will be longer-lived than the 2012. Winemaker Marc Gagnon noted that 2013 was an ideal vintage that featured an early set and an early harvest, with no extremes.

  • Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (100)

Tasted from magnum at the winery, Bryant's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon delivers swirls of ripe cherries, ribboned through with classic hints of vanilla and pencil shavings. From that excitement and dynamism on the nose, it moves into a great suppleness and elegance on the medium- to full-bodied palate, with plenty of softly dusty tannins still present on the lingering finish. Just entering its prime—maybe even early for some consumers' preferences—this benchmark expression of Pritchard Hill should continue to drink well for at least another two decades.

  • Calera De Villiers Pinot Noir 2012 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (95)

I loved the 2012 Pinot Noir de Villiers. It's a beautifully complete, balanced and satisfying Pinot Noir that does everything right. Giving up tons of sweet black raspberry and strawberry fruits, spice-box, dried flowers and potpourri characteristics, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and seamless, with a ripe, supple texture that keeps you coming back to the glass. While there's more than enough fruit to keep this enjoyable now, there's some solid tannin and depth in there as well, so it will age.
  • Calera De Villiers Pinot Noir 2015 (1x75cl)

    Vinous (94)

The 2015 Pinot Noir de Villiers Vineyard is powerful and dense yet also tightly wound at this stage. Even so, the flavors are bright and precise, with a good bit of energy pulsing through the wine. The intense fruit and floral notes are quite appealing, but another few years in bottle should be highly beneficial. All things considered, the de Villiers s one of the more overt Pinots in this range. The 2015 was done with 50% whole clusters, which, as usual, is on the lower side for the estate wines.
  • Calera De Villiers Pinot Noir 2018 (6x75cl)

The 2018 Pinot Noir de Villiers Vineyard shows the natural intensity of the year in its powerful, broad personality. Dark blue/purplish fruit, gravel, incense, tobacco and mocha all flesh out in a Pinot that marries textural richness with plenty of grip and vertical lift. • Cardinale Proprietary Red 2008 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (96)

Over 1,000 cases of the 2008 Cardinale were made from a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 8% Merlot. Interestingly, the To-Kalon portion is the only fruit source located on the valley floor, which is not surprising given Jess Jackson’s propensity to buy, plant and source fruit from high elevation hillside and mountain sites. The 2008 exhibits a dense purple color along with sweet kirsch, unsmoked cigar tobacco, toasty oak and black currant characteristics. The wine hits the palate with a resounding opulence, full-bodied richness, moderate, sweet, well-integrated tannins and a long, heady finish. There is a floral component in the 2008 that was not noticeable in the 2007. This beautiful, full-bodied wine was aged 21 months in 100% new French oak. Slightly more evolved than the 2007, the 2008 should last for 20-25+ years.
  • Cardinale Proprietary Red 2009 (6x75cl)

    Vinous (93+)

The 2009 Cardinale is a gorgeous, beautifully balanced wine endowed with gorgeous textural finesse and depth. Dark red fruit, spices and mint are woven together beautifully in this supple, engaging wine. Bright floral notes add lift, freshness and vibrancy on the finish. There is enough finesse to make the 2009 approachable early, but also enough richness to suggest the wine will drink early for a number of years. Winemaker Chris Carpenter creates the final blend from a number of vineyards, including Veeder Peak, La Jota, Spring Mountain, Andrew-Geoffrey and Clem Cardinalli. The final blend is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot, predominantly from hillside sites, aged in 100% new French oak barrels. This is a remarkable level of quality considering the 1,300-case production.

  • Bryant Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 (1x75cl)

    Vinous (98)

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is magnificent. Crème de cassis, graphite, lavender, licorice, espresso and sage infuse the 2018 with striking depth. The tannins are intense, but there is more than enough mid-palate intensity to keep everything in balance. Inky, deep and potent, the 2018 Bryant Estate is off the charts. It is one of the very finest wines I have ever tasted here.

Subtle and complex aromas of blackcurrants, mushrooms, bark, flowers and fresh herbs. A full-to medium-bodied wine with persistent, powdery and polished tannins that give a dense, silky texture. Succulent and juicy at the end with almost blood-orange character. Purity and energy. From biodynamically grown grapes. Try after 2026.

    Vinous (94)

The 2018 Pinot Noir de Villiers Vineyard shows the natural intensity of the year in its powerful, broad personality. Dark blue/purplish fruit, gravel, incense, tobacco and mocha all flesh out in a Pinot that marries textural richness with plenty of grip and vertical lift. I would cellar this for at least a year or two, and that likely won't be enough for the 2018 to enter its sweet spot.

  • Calera Mills Pinot Noir 2018 (6x75cl)

The 2018 Pinot Noir Mills Vineyard offers tons of aromatic presence to match its nervy, decidedly mid-weight personality. Crushed red flowers, blood orange, cinnamon, star anise and red berry fruit are nicely lifted. There is a bit of nerviness, and yet the 2018 comes across as one of the more open knit of the estate Pinots.

  • Calera Mt Harlan Chardonnay 2018 (6x75cl)

The 2018 Chardonnay (Mt. Harlan) is bright, focused and translucent. A wine of striking character, the Mt. Harlan Chardonnay captures the essence of this rugged site in its savory complexity. In 2018, the Mt. Harlan is a bit lighter than it usually is, with a distinctly airy feel, and yet it has plenty of personality. Dried pear, mint, citrus oil, sage and dried flowers are some of the notes that develop over time.

  • Cardinale Proprietary Red 2007 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (95+)

Composed of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon and 14% Merlot, the 2007 Proprietary Red Wine still possesses a youthful deep garnet-purple color and gives up a truly gorgeous nose of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and blueberry compote with notions of Chinese five spice, licorice, mocha and dusty soil plus wafts of cardamom and smoked meats. Full-bodied, rich and totally seductive in mouth, it has a firm frame of super ripe, grainy tannins with oodles of freshness and epic persistence.

Veeder, Stags' Leap, Yountville and St. Helena).
