Vinous (90-92)
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has quite an intense bouquet of copious red cherries, raspberry preserve and orange blossom aromas, although it does not quite possess the same complexity as this vineyard’s finest efforts. The elegant palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, tart red fruit and a slight citrus element toward the finish. A capable Les Amoureuses, rather than one you will instantly fall in love with.Inc. TAX€503.95 -
Burghound (92-94)
(Sweet spot Outstanding) Once again the nose is quite restrained while remaining wonderfully elegant and even more floral with its cool and admirably pure aromas of pomegranate, cherry, spiced tea and plenty of violet and lavender nuances. There is outstanding intensity, in fact it's presently almost painful, to the pungently mineral-driven middle weight flavors that display terrific persistence on the youthfully austere and equally chiseled finish. This is impressive though note well that it's very compact and a wine that will require extended patience.Inc. TAX€2,311.68 -

Wine Advocate (92-94)
Wafting from the glass with notes of cherries, sweet red berries, petals, licorice and spices, the 2022 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses is medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, with a pretty, perfumed core of fruit framed by melting tannins, concluding with a saline finish.Inc. TAX€1,726.54 -
Vinous (88-90)
The 2020 Chambolle-Musigny Les Chabiots 1er Cru has quite a stemmy nose that rather obscures the terroir and fruité at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a chewy opening, quite firm in the mouth, just missing some finesse and Pinoté towards the finish. A bit too firm for a Chambolle, at least in my book.Inc. Tim Atkin MW (97)
The stand out wine at Bichot in 2012, even though it was made from (very special) purchased grapes. Pepper spicy, concentrated, yet clearly defined it's silky, sweet and beguilingly fruity with very subtle oak integration, fine-grained tannins and a silky, palate-caressing finish.Inc. TAX€1,453.68 -
Wine Advocate (91-93)
The 2016 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru was picked on 28 September, includes 30% whole bunch fruit and matured in 40% new oak. It has a clean, fresh and vibrant bouquet with red cherry, cranberry leaf and fine mineralité coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, impressive depth, quite saline in the mouth with a pinch of spice/black pepper toward the finish. This is a well-crafted Clos de la Roche that should age with style.Inc. TAX€1,182.48 -

Vinous (87-89)
The 2020 Corton Clos des Maréchaudes Grand Cru has an attractive bouquet with mulberry, raspberry and light floral scents. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins, quite firm, a little rustic towards the finish. A broad-shouldered Corton that just needs a little more finesse.Inc. TAX€731.28 -
Vinous (88)
The 2015 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a primal, simple bouquet that struggles to get past the honeyed fruit, the aromatics overwhelmed by the growing season. The palate is slightly honeyed on the entry with notes of mango, passion fruit and a touch of spice, suggesting that there might have been some botrytis in the vineyard. This is not unattractive but falls short of other Corton-Charlemagnes of this vintage. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting. (DIAM 30 closure)Inc. TAX€924.23 -
Vinous (91-93)
The 2020 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has a light, fresh bouquet with pressed white flowers, white linen and light peachy aromas. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, quite taut for a Corton-Charlemagne, certainly one of the better Bichot whites with more mineralité on the finish. This should age well. Closure: DiamInc. TAX€1,273.68 -
Vinous (91)
The 2020 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru as a light green apple and citrus lemon nose, perhaps needing just a little more mineralité to show through. With good balance and acidity, notes of orange rind and a light tang of marmalade are highlighted on the palate and fan out neatly towards the finish with a hint of lemongrass tickling the tongue on the aftertaste. Lovely. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.Inc. TAX€225.12 -
Vinous (87)
The 2021 Chablis Vaucoupin 1er Cru has a primal, grapefruit and lemon thyme scented nose that feels a bit strict. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry, though it needs more grip and substance on the finish. Fine, but early-drinking. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.Inc. TAX€262.54 -
Decanter (93)
Domaine Long-Depaquit is the Chablis arm of the Bichot family. Vaucoupin is one of their signatures and in 2022 it shows a great combination of sun-ripened peach fruit on the palate, balanced by zesty acidity and a hint of white pepper. Lovely purity here. Manages to be both powerful and elegant at the same time. Already drinking nicely, this has the concentration to age very well.Inc. TAX€273.12 -
Burghound (90-92)
(raised in ~15% wood). Here there is better Chablis typicity in the form of quinine, petrol, sea breeze and citrus on the floral and pear-scented nose. The mouthfeel of the medium-bodied flavors is at once rich yet refined with good vibrancy while delivering fine length on the dry but not really austere finale. As pretty as this is though, it definitely will need to develop better depth to merit the upper end of my predicted range.Inc. TAX€256.49 -
Vinous (91+)
Reticent but complex aromas of lime blossom, hazelnut, minerals and wet stone. Drier and more austere than the Blanchots, with a juiciness verging on painful to its grapefruit zest and crushed rock flavors. Seriously mineral wine with excellent extract and chewy length. Boasts good depth but not quite the depth or dimension of the Blanchots.Inc. TAX€185.95 -
Vinous (92+)
Bright medium yellow. More minerally and complex than the 2016 version, offering aromas of white peach, fresh pineapple, orange oil, minerals and spicy oak. More imploded today than the Blanchots, showing less dimension but in need of time. An element of lemony acidity contributes to the wine's rather austere impression. But firm saline minerality and acidity give this very young, clenched grand cru the spine to age gracefully. Distinctly broader-shouldered than the 2016 version. This fruit was picked early, but the estate brought in their Blanchots and Montée de Tonnerre first, after the hail.Inc. TAX€125.33 -
Vinous (90-92)
Very pure but restrained nose offers scents of white peach, lemon oil, spearmint and powdered stone, plus a hint of spices. Deeper and richer than the Blanchots but not showing quite as much personality or definition today. Less detailed but ultimately a broader-shouldered, larger-scaled wine, and less evolved today.Inc. TAX€115.15 -

The 2018 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru is very airy, weightless and lifted. The 35% new oak is not especially evident. The 2018 shows real finesse and aromatic intrigue. Citrus, white flowers, chalk, white orchard fruit, white pepper and mint come together in a very pretty and gracious wine with a long, persistent finish.Inc. TAX€436.54 -
Jasper Morris Inside Burgundy (94)
Fullish yellow. The complex nose shows the power of the vintage, a few drier tannins behind, fair acidity. I think the Clos character is there, but it is reticent today. The palate does deliver detail and layers of fruit though. The finish does also suggest the necessary class. Really good length here.Inc. TAX€212.24
