Follin-Arbelet

Domaine Follin-Arbelet is based in Aloxe-Corton but with several great plots elsewhere. It is run by Franck Follin-Arbelet whose brother runs Bouchard Pere & fils in Beaune. Their first bottling was released in 1992 and has impressed by continually improving. The wine has fabulous concentration, purity and complexity.

Follin-Arbelet Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 2014 (6x75cl)

Burghound (92-95)

A cool, airy and elegant nose consists of green apple, rose petal, citrus and wet stone nuances along with plenty of attractive spice elements. There is terrific intensity to the muscular and very serious broad-shouldered flavors that seem built on a firm base of minerality before terminating in a gorgeously complex and breathtakingly long finish. This very impressive and promising effort is worth searching out.
