This "Pomerol look-alike" (Jeb Dunnuck), from a tiny 7-acre parcel has been awarded its highest ever score for the newly released 2016 vintage.

Jeb Dunnuck has given a fantastic 97 points, a higher score then he ever gave previous vintages when writing for Wine Advocate. Also scoring 95 points from Wine Advocate's Joe Czerwinski the 2016 is firmly cemented as the greatest vintage of this ultra-rare gem to date.

Since purchasing Château Lagrézette in 1980, luxury-goods magnate Alain Dominique Perrin, alongside one of the best oenologists in the world, Bordeaux based Michel Rolland, has elevated this estate to the very top of the Cahors appellation.

It was Rolland who designed their cutting edge gravity-fed winery that has elevated the estate above and beyond their rivals, competing not just with the finest Right Bank Bordeaux, but also top Napa Cabernets.

The flagship Le Pigeonnier is only made in exclusively great vintages and production is restricted to less then 420 cases, making it rare as hens teeth on release and incredibly scarce on the secondary market.

Due to the small quantities and its popularity among Malbec purists, this is a hard wine to find. Only four previous vintages are openly available for sale globally. Releasing 57% below the similarly scored 2011, we recommend you secure a case or two of this phenomenal vintage while you can.
