  • Il Carnasciale Il Caberlot 2014 (3x150cl)

    Vinous (96)

Podere Il Carnasciale's 2014 Il Caberlot is all class. Sophisticated and medium in body in this vintage, it possesses striking aromatic depth and nuance to match its decidedly midweight personality. Layers of bright, red-toned fruit, blood orange and cinnamon add to the wine's decidedly exotic personality. In some vintages, Caberlot is more overt and exuberant, but the 2014 is a cool, reserved wine that needs time in bottle for its inner sweetness to fully emerge. Even at this early stage, though, it is striking.
  • Il Carnasciale Il Caberlot 2015 (3x150cl)

    Vinous (96)

The 2015 Il Caberlot opens with a blast of blackberry jam, chocolate, licorice and spice. Exotic and deep, with tremendous character, the 2015 delivers serious flavor intensity while remaining light on its feet for such a powerful wine. The combination of textural resonance and finesse is striking in the 2015. Bottled only in magnum.

The purest and most profound expression of Sangiovese on the market today, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is a monumental achievement. It represents the pinnacle of varietal perfection from one of the best vintages on record in Montalcino. The wine opens to a beautifully saturated ruby color with vibrant crimson highlights. It continues to deliver crisp tones of small forest berry, pressed violets, wet earth, white truffle, licorice, balsam herb and all the other lovely aromas that are so distinctive in wines from this stunning part of Tuscany. The tannins are firm and linear, adding a great sense of support at the back and lingering persistency. The wine is profoundly beautiful today and shows all the criteria necessary for 20 years or more of cellar aging. Brunello Madonna Delle Grazie represents the enormous promise of Montalcino.

  • Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie 2013 (6x75cl)

    Wine Advocate (97)

Sangiovese-whisperer Alessandro Mori has delivered another superstar wine with the 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna Delle Grazie. The bouquet is detailed and fine with bright accents of fragrant red rose, red currant, cola, licorice, grilled herb and crushed white peppercorn. The bouquet is loose, light and buoyant, with a smooth and natural progression of building aromas. The mouthfeel, however, is direct, important and determined. It's that playful juxtaposition between the wine's soft side and its stern side that makes this such an interesting and sensational wine to drink. Only 5,993 bottles were produced, and that's the bad news.

  • Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino 2019 (1x150cl)

    Jeb Dunnuck (97)

The bright ruby 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is another stunning 2019 on the nose, with bright, intense aromatics of rosewater, redcurrants, wild Mediterranean herbs, macchia, incense, anise, potpourri – it’s so distinctive yet always moving in the glass. Medium-bodied, with beautiful purity, it has ripe, fine tannins, is long on the palate for days, and has a weightless feel. This impeccable wine is phenomenal now, but it’s only going to improve over the coming 15-20 years.

  • Il Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie 2010 (1x150cl)

    Wine Advocate (100)

The purest and most profound expression of Sangiovese on the market today, the 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna delle Grazie is a monumental achievement. It represents the pinnacle of varietal perfection from one of the best vintages on record in Montalcino. The wine opens to a beautifully saturated ruby color with vibrant crimson highlights. It shows an enormous sense of inner energy and vitality characteristic only of the best quality grapes.

Italy has gone from strength to strength, with standards of winemaking improving all the time and more indigenous varietals than ever before reaching foreign markets. Every single region is a treasure trove of undiscovered gems worth exploring, while the more classic wines like Barolo and Brunello di Montalcino have more than caught up in quality with their French counterparts without catching up in price. A dizzying array of style and a natural affinity with food means there is really no need to look any further no matter the occasion.
