This is amazing on the nose with dried strawberries, sandalwood, mahogany and tea leaf. Iron and rust underneath the fruit. Dried flowers, nutmeg and rose petals. Full-bodied yet agile and energetic with layers of fine dusty tannins. Entrancing finish. Give this four or five years in the bottle, but it’s hard not to drink.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle is bursting with dark blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and dried herbs. A potent, muscular Pinot, the Silver Eagle is superb. The blend of clones -Vosne-Romanée, Calera and Swan - along with the personality of this site, yields one of the darker, broader Pinots in the Rivers-Marie range. A dollop of whole clusters (15%) and firm tannins add to an impression of gravitas. This is impressive juice.

The 2022 Chardonnay (Sonoma Coast) is airy and lifted. Lemon peel, jasmine, white pepper and a hint of spice all meld together. The 2022 is soft and open-knit, so it will drink well upon release. It's a classy and affordable introduction to the range.
